Love Yourself Challenge – Week 1 Progress

Feb 9, 2021

Happy Tuesday Snatchers!

It is Day 9 of the Love yourself challenge by FitbodybyAshely. I told you all I would update you weekly on my progress and I am keeping my word haha so that you all can hold me accountable! Also, so I hold myself accountable. This challenge has been difficult in some respects, but change is not always easy, right? We have to work for the results we want, and we have to strive for them no matter how often we fall down. With that said this journey has been great so far and I want to keep pushing myself to continue.

So here is how week one went for me 😊 I did the work from Day 1-5, I was on fire and the total step count was 51,346 for the week (Sun-Sat, challenge started Monday). For my water goal only Saturday I missed my 100 oz goal by about 25-30 oz so my average was about 98.3 oz for the week but I’m still proud of myself because my highest day was 127 oz on Wednesday ^__^. My protein goal was a bit tricky I did reach my goal from Day 1&2 and day 4-6. Day 3 and 7 I was under by about 30 grams. Which is fine I’m still happy with my current results so far because as I mentioned protein is hard for me because I’m no longer drinking like 2-3 shakes a day like I used to. I also honestly do not want to go back to just protein shakes (water & protein). I do however need to dazzle it up, so I have been doing strawberry Greek yogurt with my protein.  I may need to go back to protein oats in the morning, I would be reaching my goal if I actually had some eggs/meat with my breakfast haha. Well, things to do for Day 8-14 right?

Day 6 was a rest day and I went to brunch with my best friend. Definitely worth every bite and I don’t regret it, I also logged it. This is a victor for me because whenever I would log meals that I knew went over my calorie limit I would be ashamed and try to lie to myself. I also would not eat for the rest of the day. Fuck that, you are human! Life is not meant to be lived by a strict regime, we were giving free will to spice up life a bit! So, enjoy and don’t feel guilty about what you ate! I know I saw it and I was like oh well I earned it haha.  I missed Day 7 (Sunday) I just think I was tired. I’m not used to working out 5-6 days in a row again. It has been quite some time since I did that so I am doing the best I can with the challenge but also listening to my body.

Overall Week 1  was a success to me, I am pretty involved in the Facebook community for this group. We all struggle in certain aspects, but we encourage one another, and we do keep one another accountable. For instance, Day 8 was yesterday, and I did not do my workout in the morning (which means my likelihood of completing it gets lower) but I spoke with my coworker and friend and we talked about our fitness goals and it got me excited again. My friend is actually doing the challenge with me so we got off of work at 10:05 PM and by 10:15 or so we were on zoom together doing the lower body workout. It was so much fun and the burn on my quads will thank me later haha. It is great having people by yourself during your fitness/self-love journey. Yes, fitness is a self-love journey because you start your journey wanting to change something about yourself. Fitness has been Godsent for me honestly and I am happy I am getting back into and sharing it with you all. Tell me about your fitness goals! How was your self-love journey been going? I definitely woke up this morning loving myself more than the night before and I hope you are too 😊
